7. Recommend me a recipe (I may have to adapt for kashrut and sugar). Cook spaghetti... strain it... then dump it into a hot skillet that has a teaspoon of veg oil, soya, oyster sauce and garlic... (two big cloves chopped... not crushed) and stir stir stir... serve with ... whatever... tofu to turkey. :)
8. Recommend me a sport. Have you ever tried rock climbing... indoor, on a rock wall? way fun and good to do with a relationship partner... promotes the concept of "supporting one another".
9. Recommend me a skill... oral sex... get good at it... everybody should dammit!!

5. CCR (Creedence Clearwater Revival)
6. User Friendly (http://www.userfriendly.org/static/) (I recommend hitting the archives and starting from the beginning. heh)
7. Fruit salad:
assorted sliced fresh and/or canned fruit,
assorted chopped up nuts,
raisins or other dried fruit bits.
Toss everything together in a bowl, let sit in fridge or on counter for a bit, toss again.
I like to use canned pears, canned pink grapefruit, fresh oranges, fresh apples, raisins, and pecans. You can use just about anything, but it tastes yummiest if there's some citrus and non-citrus both in the bowl. I don't add sugar or yogurt or anything weird to it. (My mom used to make a fruit salad that had a mayo dressing. *gag*)
8. I'm a bit anti-sports... um, things I've done that I've liked. Fencing, yoga, hiking, running. OOOOOO, and how could I forget? Bellydancing. Great fun, great conditioning, combines music and womanly stuff, you get to meet interesting other ladies. Not real big on Performing bellydance for people, but I do enjoy just dancing.
9. woodworking - the basics, like how to build a box or a set of shelves. everything else just builds on those. things like woodturning and carving are fun too, but not quite as practical ;)

Terry Gilliam's Brazil. It's it send-up of Nineteen Eighty-Four, and manages to be absolutely hilarious while also being genuinely, deeply disturbing. It is the only film after which I've walked out of the cinema and started touching walls just to reassure myself that, yes, I was back in reality.
2. Recommend me a book.
Ummmm, Nineteen Eighty-Four, if you haven't already read it (it's up to you whether you read it before or after seeing Brazil). Lord of the Rings is another of my all-time favourites (although I can't remember if you've read that, either). If you like very, very dark humour, Joseph Heller's Catch-22 is quite excellent.
3. Recommend me someone to add as a friend on LJ.
Most of my friends are already on your friends list. How about
4. Recommend me a website to visit.
The Memory Hole (http://www.thememoryhole.org/) (I'd like independent verification of a lot of the stuff on there, but fascinating)
Stupid Security (http://www.stupidsecurity.com/) (a Slashdot-like site exposing examples of fake, stupid and useless "security")
Textfiles (http://www.textfiles.com/) (a repository of text files from 1980s BBS systems)
5. Recommend me a band.
Carter USM. They were an indie band from the early 90s, who wrote witty, and sometimes deeply sarcastic songs about just about any unfortunate aspect of humankind you can think of (from suicide on the Tube and evil slum landlords to bullying in the armed forces and alcoholism). If you enjoy puns and spotting random cultural references, you'll have fun with their lyrics.
Anyway, anyone who's ever rented a shithole of a flat in the arse-end of London will appreciate Sheriff Fatman.
6. Recommend me an online comic.
Cute: Two Lumps (http://twolumps.keenspace.com)
Odd: Roughies (http://roughies.keenspace.com/) (you really need to read from the beginning to have any idea what's going on)
Geek humour: Absurd Notions (http://www.absurdnotions.org/)
7. Recommend me a recipe (I may have to adapt for kashrut and sugar).
You're much better at cooking than me. However, the best ever cheese on toast topping is:
Cheddar
Stilton
Garlic paste
HP sauce
8. Recommend me a sport.
I hate pretty much all sports. I recommend hurling, just because it has an amusing name.
9. Recommend me a skill.
Ummmm... plumbing? You already seem to be doing 'growing stuff'.

2. Recommend me a book. I really liked The Time Travelers Wife (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1931561648/103-6458614-5181415?v=glance). It's sci-fi but in a Kurt Vonnegut kind of way.
3. Recommend me someone to add as a friend on LJ.
4. Recommend me a website to visit. PostSecret (http://www.postsecret.blogspot.com/). It's really really powerful.
5. Recommend me a band. I'm really taken with Modest Mouse (http://www.modestmousemusic.com/) lately.
6. Recommend me an online comic. Left to my own, I would just recommend Penny Arcade (http://www.penny-arcade.com/view.php3), but my husband insists Scary Go Round (http://www.scarygoround.com/)
7. Recommend me a recipe (I may have to adapt for kashrut and sugar). Umm, I'll just recommend the last recipe (http://www.livejournal.com/users/polychromatic22/113482.html) I posted.
8. Recommend me a sport. Swimming. Everyone should swim.
9. Recommend me a skill. Sewing, but I'm pretty sure you already do this, don't you?

5. Pink Floyd. I am repeating myself here but Pink Floyd is just.. Pink Floyd.
6. Misfile (http://www.misfile.com/)
7. Tomato and honey jam: Take tomatoes, wash, cut small, remove hard bits where they were attached to the plant (I leave the skin on, it's cut small anyway). Put in saucepan with a good squirt of lemon juice. Bring to boil and simmer, while stirring, until it is only slightly thinner than you would like jam to be. Then sweeten with honey to taste (it doesn't need much to taste nice, but it won't keep hugely long), pour in clean jam jar(s), close cap, turn upside down and let cool. Eat on toast.
8. Aikido. It is relaxing and teaches you self defense too, while it promotes working together rather than competing.
