Grah

eBay is so unpredictable.

Nobody has bid on these at all, and only 3 hours left.

I don't really understand. Perhaps I need to find another auction site, or perhaps just accept that sometimes, stuff won't sell.

eBay is rather unpredictable. I have some stuff up now, and only some of it is selling...argh.

I see someone's bid on the hairfalls now, though not enough to break the reserve price.

Happily she has sent me an e-mail saying if the reserve isn't met, to e-mail her and name my price and she might buy them anyway.

I think I need to be more organised about the way that I advertise; I need to make sure the last hour or so of the auction is during a time which is a fairly busy time, so I can do a post to [livejournal.com profile] fakehair and people will actually see it. I might try just selling on fakehair, though, as people seem to have relative success with that, and I don't hvae to pay a listing fee that way. I don't know... sometimes I do really well on eBay (sold a pair of boots for £21 and I only paid £4.50 for them), and sometimes it is just crap.

I think part of the problem is all the kiddies who are off school at the moment and spending loads of time online, but aren't really big spenders yet. Winter will be better. So will oh, say, October, before Whitby (goffic weekend in England). I suppose I might catch some of the Hallowe'en buyers as well.

You should add buzzwords like 'ULTRA RARE' and 'VINTAGE' :)
I've seen a lot of dime-a-dozen things being sold for ridiculously overpriced amounts that way..

might be a problem with market saturation in your advertising area - ie. all the people who see your adverts, and want your stuff, and can afford it, have already bought it.

Time to move onto new grazing areas, perhaps?

Then again, might just be random.

I think it is a combination of the following:

-lots of kiddies off school for the summer, trying to make lots of hair things, but not actually having much money to spend themselves

-the falls I make have yarn in them, which makes them a bit on the warm side for summer

-the pictures I have are not spectacular (just put on a display head - pictures on real people always look much better).

So, I'll try again.

I did end up with someone interested in ordering a pair in different colours, so we'll see whether that goes through.
