I have a telephone message. It says I'm supposed to phone 01204 653 442 because I haven't paid for a LED lamp.

That's nice. I haven't PURCHASED a LED lamp. I haven't requested to purchase one. I've looked at a few but not got anywhere near filling out any forms that say 'please send me a one of these and I will give you money'.

I'm a bit confused by this, because I don't know how the hell they (dunno who they are - message taker assumed I'd know the company) got my home phone number, either.

If any of you are responsible would you please phone them and fix it? I've phoned twice and it just rings busy. If it comes in the post and hasn't been paid for then I will ahve to send it back as unsolicited goods.

If it's unsolicited, you might be able to keep it as a gift. I can't remember the legalities of it, though. IANAL, #include <stddisclaimer.h>

I definitely didn't try to buy one, though, and I CERTAINLY didn't give out my home phone number. I don't grok, in a fairly serious way, what is going on. I don't give out my home phone number online, as a general rule.

If you get sent unsolicited goods, you only have a duty to tell the company a mistake has been made. It is their responsibility to collect the item or pay for postage. After six months you get to keep it.

That's wierd and slightly disconcerting. Still, if you haven't purchased one then it is generally more their problem than yours.
