Got up at 4am to try to watch a total lunar eclipse.

Went to bed at ten past four, because it was hopeless - complete cloud cover. Did not fall asleep until at least five, due to my body having thought it was morning. Luckily it was still dark enough to convince my body to sleep again.

Maybe the next one will not be at such a stupid time.

we had rain in my part of Virginia. peak was about 0040 here, supposedly [or it was halfway through by then, or something.]

eclipses should schedule themselves better, and clear their timing with whoever's in charge of the damn weather.

it happened here at 10:14 PM..totally convenient, for once. and it was a spring evening and CLEAR with stars. a miracle. and it still makes me feel like i want to offer some sort of sacrifice to appease some goddess of some kind... brrrr
