I want to have a Dead Computer Resurrection/Swapmeet Party. The most likely good date will be Saturday, 9th December, in the afternoon (as many people have parties in the evening), and I'm trying to see if we can have The Pembury Tavern for it because they have a) free wifi (and ethernet too if you bring ethernet string) b) solid tables at which to work and c) by arrangement, probably enough light to actually be able to see what's going on.

Please comment here with lists of what bits you could bring and whether you think they work. Also list any tools, even really basic standard ones, that you'd be happy to bring. Also suggest any projects you think would be possible from the listed parts and what parts/tools would be needed to complete said projects. Working stuff gets priority for making stuff that works, broken stuff gets priority for weird technohippie art. Completed projects could be donated to charities, used as garden sculptures, used as real alive computers, and so on.

Please note that anything that you bring which does not get put to good use and/or claimed by someone, you have to take back home again. This is not a "Fill ewt's house with dead computers" party.

If you really really reaaaaaally want to do this but 9th of December can't possibly work, tell me what could work.

Hmm, technology might bite me and I have already viciously murdered all my bits of dead computer. Weird techno art could be ok though.

Weird technohippie art sounds like fun, and it's not impossible I could dig out some tools and accessories for that purpose.

About all I'd be able to contribute on the technological front is misc. cabling, mostly sans metadata, though.

I will probably be in London that day and can bring a limited amount of stuff down from Edinburgh, but will not want to take all of it back again. So if the date gets confirmed, I'll post a list of stuff closer to the day which people can request, on condition they take responsibility for taking it away again.
