Nov. 1st, 2007 08:47 pmToday has been a slow day. Did some banking, did some planning.
My right elbow/arm has been not-quite-right since Tuesday. On Tuesday I had a horn lesson but forgot my horn stick at home. In the evening my arm started complaining with inflammation and swelling, so I iced it for a good long while whilst at the Pembury. Yesterday it was mostly okay in the daytime but I had some shoulder-area tension-related pain so attempted to alleviate that with a warm pack at bedtime. Today my shoulders seem okay; a little more tense on the right than on the left, but not actually painful. My elbow has alternated between "meh this hurts" and "OHFUCKOHFUCKOHFUCK" and it doesn't seem to be activity-related at all, except that moving my 4th and 5th finger on my right hand AT ALL makes it worse. Typing is slow without those fingers. I've also had some pain in the hand and wrist, and there's visible swelling in the hand. Yes, I've taken an over-the-counter NSAID. Yes, I'll be applying ice - earlier I was very wary of doing so because my lower arm feels a bit tense, as well as my shoulder, but at this point I think the inflammation is winning.
I hate having to choose between ice for inflammation and injury or heat for overworked, tense muscles. Bah. Stupid body.
Not at Aikido tonight because of arm. Pissed off as it is first time in ages I don't have rehearsal.
Not heard from the landlady; basically since she has not been able to make her mind up yet I'm going to have to move. Not wonderful news but at least I have made a decision now. Still not sure whether I'll be moving into
pfy's place, I'd quite like to but it does require a) more information from
yaqub regarding actual timing [if he doesn't leave until after I've gone to Canada, I can't do it, and my leaving date is fixed for 12th December; ideally I'd like to finish moving by 8th December as I'll be teaching all day 9th and panicking and packing on 10th and 11th] and b) more discussion with
pfy himself. Oh, and we should probably run it by
mirrorshard as he lives there too but I imagine that as a known wossname I'm a bit less objectionable than most complete strangers.
Tonight - probably having a bath. I need to wash my hair, which is always a real pain when my arm is sore. Should get some work done on one or two things, as well. Early night.
Tomorrow - practising, various life and academic admin stuff, class, ummmmm not sure what is happening in the evening but I need an early night. Possibly making a big start on the packing if my arm is better enough, since I've now gone from "ARGH I might hae to move house" to "ARGH I have to pack!" in my stress focus.
Saturday - various house-choosing things (at this point, probably going along with
mstevens to see some places, though I'll try to schedule some of my own viewings too).
