My horn case is further falling apart. One of the rivets that holds the handle to the case has come out. I hope the remaining one holds until Christmas; I am busking tomorrow and plan to busk in Bath on Sunday (? if I am there early enough), Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

*sigh*

I may phone Phil Parker tomorrow and see if they do Marcus Bonna cases. If not, it'll be a trip to Paxman in January.

I wonder how many sets of hairfalls I can make while I am in Bath? I know I want to spend lots of time lounging around watching DVDs with [livejournal.com profile] shevek, and at least some of this is conducive to doing some knitting, although not if the movies are at all frightening or snuggly because then I need to snuggle ;P

Yes, the case can be repaired if need be, but I badly need a backpack case anyway. That one is very heavy and I am currently spending around an hour a day carrying it (assuming I don't walk around much between and after busking). It is heavier than the horn itself and I do wonder whether it has contributed more to my back problems than the horn has. My back did improve when I switched to the lightweight soft case during second-year uni; however I will not use that soft case on the Underground, or indeed in most places in London. Too crowded, too much risk of being bumped into or knocked over. With the Yamaha 667V it didn't matter quite so much - if that got wrecked it was essentially replaceable, it was brand new and they still make the same model. I can't replace my Alexander though (not only do they not make that model anymore, but it was fitted with a Lawson leadpipe, and Lawson do not make separate leadpipes anymore), and so a good, strong case has to take first priority.
