I want this!

Um, and more unrealistically, this, too. Yes, my horn is still in good working order, needs some minor soldering and a ding taken out but should last ages yet. That doesn't stop me also wanting a Conn 8D, particularly as I played one for several months. They really are a good horn and quite consistent.

The first one is cute and cheesy... the second, very pretty. Although I don't know how they can call it 'near mint' with that sort of wear in the bell.

I'll try and get the mug for you if you want. I'd love to buy you the new horn, but...

Hello - I wandered in here randomly via [livejournal.com profile] feanelwa's journal, and realised that I had stumbled upon a fellow horn player!

Unfortunately, I have had to abandon playing for the time being. I can't guarantee that my horn is better than the one you've got at the moment (it's been soldered once and had a dent taken out of the bell), but if you wanted to know more about it with a view to playing / borrowing / maybe even buying it, it's would be going for much less than the one you link to above! It's a Heuer (made in Germany), and about 17 years old. I've owned it from new.

Anyway... apologies for bursting in and trying to sell you a new horn! If you want to know more, my email address is in my user info.

My existing horn is an old Alexander, and I love it dearly.

It would be nice to have something a little lighter (mine has an extra valve) and less precious for my busking work, but I really AM too skint at the moment, having just started uni again. The Conn only caught my eye because I've played one before and they are fairly reliable from serial number to serial number, so I would know what I'm getting.
