Gah.

I feel sick. I want to not go in to work today.

I will go anyway and say I am not feeling well and ask if I can do a half day instead. I need the money.

I need a new job, with regular hours. Five mornings a week, either Monday-Friday or Sunday-Thursday. Afternoons and evenings are no good (I want to keep teaching). Full time is definitely no good. I want to make £140/week or more, so I guess at 20 hours I would need at least £7/hour... more if it is going to be far away. I live in Hendon. I don't drive but would be willing and able to take the tube, or work anywhere that I could walk or cycle to in less than an hour (this will require me buying a bicycle but I could do that). Jewish holidays would be good but I am willing to negotiate precisely what this entails.

I type fast. Since June 2000 I have been doing an office job which requires:
-reception
-making posters and adverts for events
-data entry and database maintenance using Access97
-events planning
-website maintenance (see http://www.yakar.org.uk and keep in mind that not all formatting decisions were my decisions)
-writing letters/emails
-door manning
-mailshots
-filing
-filling in for my boss when she is sick or away

This job is not bad but I only get £6/hour and I only get about 8-10 hours a week, which is simply not enough for the amount of responsibility I have been starting to take. I also feel I would benefit from a more regular daily routine (getting up and going to the same job every morning, every day of the week). I need consistency of schedule and income.

Any takers?

I suppose I should do other stuff like update my CV.

Madness

I am going to try to get up at 4am tomorrow to view a total lunar eclipse. Neato, eh? Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] xauenmurph for alerting me to it.

I suspect I will only catch the end of it. This is because it will get light, and the moon will set, and I don't know where there is a good place for me to see the western horizon at 4am. Sunrise is at 5.09am (argh). Anyway it might be cloudy in which case I will sit inside in the warm and watch it online.

The next one which will be visible from England will be November 9th.

Part of me wants to try to stay up instead but as I was up at 6 this morning and I am already yawning muchly, I think it would be a bad idea.
