Went to Slimelight last night even though I had not got nearly wehre I wanted to be with my room. I do not think I was going to get much further anyway. I only stayed until about 2am though, even though the music was starting to get quite good then, I knew it would be suicide to get home too late because if it is light out and I miss my sleep window I am in big trouble. Even as I walked home from the bus stop at about 3.30am the sky was starting to lighten in the east. Happily I have a west-facing bedroom, so I did get a few hours of sleep.

Today is the Day of Moving Furniture (and hopefully, if someone strong turns up, the piano). This involves putting vast amounts of stuff in boxes, moving the boxes around, moving the furniture around, putting the boxes back on the shelves, moving the next bit of furniture, taking the boxes off the shelves, moving the shelves.... you get the idea. I rather like the keyboard by the window and may leave it there instead of at the end of the bed as originally planned. Dunno for sure yet... but that is one thing that will be easy enough to modify later. I have very nearly got the space cleared for the first shelf to go into its permanent place. Next will be the bed, which is the difficult one - have to get the futon out from underneath, and also have to put the mattress and bedding somewhere. I have one shelf which is really kindof piano-dependent, and needs to go to its spot after the piano gets moved.... but until the piano gets moved it could quite happily go where the piano will be living, I suppose. Hooevering is also occuring at various intervals.

I need to get rid of stupid amounts of stuff. How did I end up with so much SHIT?

My goal is to unpack two boxes per day until they are all put away. As I unpack the boxes I will get rid of the things I do not love anymore, and either give them away to the charity shops or sell them on eBay. Great amounts of Chucking Out will occur.

I must put my rubbish in the bin. I must put my rubbish in the bin. I must put my rubbish in the bin... once my room gets messy I seem to stop doing this, which is bad.

I completely forgot I have to be at Yakar tonight to do an event (well, 2 events and a private party.... this should be interesting....), so I will not be going swimming tonight. Arse. I was really looking forward to a nice relaxing swim before job interviews tomorrow. I suppose if I get to bed early enough, I could swim tomorrow morning instead. I'll see how things go.

I must remember to choose my clothes for tomorrow (two interviews, wheee!) before I go to bed tonight, and lay them out in a suitable manner so I don't actually have to engage my brain come morning.

Shavuot soon. I am exploring various cheesecake recipes. I should make icecream again sometime soon as well. Icecream yum.

Must get new contact lenses. Must get new glasses.

Must drink water.

Graaaaaaaah.
UNK UNK UNK UNK UNK!!!

One shelf, the wardrobe (okay it was not going to move anyway), the drawers and the bed are in their final positions. Go me!

Time for a sanity break.

Having all my rexlace spools on one long stick is okay but makes it really hard to replace the rolls... also they get tangled. What I actually need is a whole bunch of toiletpaper holders, really skinny ones so the rexlace spools will fit on them. Any idea where I can get these for cheap?

There are many boxes and bags in the living room. I have too much stuff. See last entry.
Tried to put the piano in my room, at about 7.15
At about 7.25 we had it most of the way around the corner and [livejournal.com profile] leunnammi was stuck in my room. As the piano does not have a giant hinge in the middle, and the hallway is too narrow, and we did not have a piano trolley, that was as far as we got. We tried from the other direction, but it was no use. So, the piano is back in its original location, and I have wet slippers from rushing off to Yakar to do the door.

Steve (does handiwork and stagecraft at Yakar; came and had a look at our fence; used to have a job as a piano mover, but didn't tell me this until tonight) has had a look and says he will make a piano trolley and see if we can do it that way. The piano is 59 inches long, but only 49 inches tall, so if we turn it onto its side on the trolley it may yet be possible to make this work. We were very nearly around the bend (anyone who tries to move a piano is around the bend if you ask me) and I think that the extra ten inches really might make the difference.

If not, the piano will have to trade places with the sofa, and I'll have to teach on the keyboard if other people are home. I cannot leave it where it is and have the radiator in my room on in the winter, and I can't afford to have the window in my room knocked out to get the piano in there for a year.

Dad, do I have to take the action out if I am turning the piano on its side?
