I think...

...that with any 'extra' money I make in December from playing Xmas carols, if I get enough, I may buy myself a horn case. This business of carrying around the wooden one is REALLY slowing me down (not having both hands free) and not great for my back. I like the compact ones (because Iwould be wearing a big leather spike on my back! yay!) but suspect that the longer slimline ones would be better (room for two mutes, or in my case one mute and one mutecase for busking things).

After my audition I will start phoning around and finding out about how customisable the Marcus Bonna cases are (my horn is a slightly weird shape). If I am an especially lucky ewt it will just require some extra padding, rather than a custom-built case.

I went swimming. It was wonderful. It was so good to be supported by the water, to exercise without putting any stress or strain on my joints. I feel about three inches taller. Niggling things in my back that had been bothering me for weeks seem to have sorted themselves out.

I don't seem to be able to swim in a straight line, though, unless I don't use my arms. That would be four hours of horn playing per day, then. Grah. Oh well, if I swim regularly this too will sort itself out.
