Oh, WOW.

And there's a UK not-quite-equivalent, Zopa - they offer better rates and flexibility than high street banks do for lending, but their restrictions on borrowing are about standard. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] hairyears for the link.

Grumph.

Ugh.

Throat is sore, it's been sore on and off all week feeling slightly swollen but I think it might be actually properly irritated now as well.

Kodaly exam is going to involve a bit more practise than previously anticipated, particularly of the handsigns. So, no Aikido for me tonight. GRAH to that, I wanna go Aikido, but passing tomorrow's exam is kindof important too...

Didn't get other academic stuff done. Did practise horn quite a bit, which is good. Might do more of that this evening, as I've a lesson tomorrow and it would be nice for it to go well for once.

Did have salad for lunch, but then had pasta and cheese later. I wasn't actually physically hungry. food cravings )

I think I'll have bagels for dinner, and grab some for breakfasts later in the week as well.

There was something else but I've forgotten it now.

Off to teach trumpet in Bethnal Green.

Trying to make more public posts again these days.

Still feeling ill, still trying to study and stuff. Trumpet teaching was okay. Student was away for ages and only started again last week, she hasn't practised much this week so she had a very tired mouth by 40 minutes into the lesson. Sadly, I can relate. Last week I commented on some cracks in their living room ceiling, and today when I got there a bunch (um, 2 square metres or so?) of plaster had fallen down. It never rains but it pours, et cetera. They're going to have to get that bit completely replaced. Meep. Also they've got a friend staying with them whilst recovering from an operation. She was going to stay in the living room, but... well.

Trains were on LSD on the way home. I don't appreciate ending up on the wrong branch of track with no warning. This added twenty minutes to my journey.

The Five-Year-Old-With-Ants-In-His-Pants in Kentish Town is moving away, like out of London away, so that's a student gone come July. But I'm probably going to end up teaching his friend from school, if they ever get a piano. And I'm teaching the younger sister of one of my other students now, she just started this week. She's young but her brother does well for his age and she seemed pretty on the ball for a four-year-old.

First of July I'm playing first horn in Bruckner E minor mass and also the Beethoven Rondino for 8 wind. Not sure of a venue yet but please come. Maybe I'll sneak an "O Canada" in during the interval or something.

Okay, nose back to the grindstone.
