Collect lots of free papers, build a small "forest" out of them and leave it there to make a statement about how many trees are being cut down for the sake of what is basically an adfest. Problems: not getting arrested; making sure they don't blow over or fall apart in the wind; carrying enough papers at once to pull it off. Would need several people going to somewhere in the City with a backpack full of papers each late on a Sunday night and taking night buses home. Also, someone should check that the newsprint isn't recycled paper first, probably.
Discoveries of the day:
Beech nuts (beech mast? whatever it's called, the bit of beech trees that you can eat that isn't the leaves) is yum, if a bit fiddly to get at.
Walnuts seem about ready now, so it's the Race Against The Squirrels. The little bastards will probably win through having more free time than I have. Bastards. Oh well.
Whingeing:
My throat is sore and feels swollen on one side and my eyes sting and my head hurts and I feel too warm and my ears itch. That'd be the cold kicking in, then. Damnit. More ibuprofen, I guess; it did eventually help this morning. And lots of water, and sage tea with honey, and so on and so forth. Currently kicking myself for not buying gooey, squishy, throat-soothey foods at the supermarket. Maybe I'll mash up a bananana.
