Fear my efficiency! I have practised, and made some phonecalls. Kindof failed to get dressed but I don't actually need to leave the house until this evening, so as long as I get stuff done I think lounging around in pyjamas is allowed.
Academic
Practised; did a warm-up and played through some more Barboteu études. Nice stuff. I must write piano parts to go with them. They would be wonderful, excellent studies for working on communication between horn and piano. I can pretty much hear the piano parts in my head as I play (although some of them are harp), so it's really a matter of sufficient focus to write things down.
Later today I'll be gathering paperwork and making a decision about the soloists competition at Trinty. I'm almost definitely not in a position to win it; in some ways that's a very good reason to do it. In any case, forms are due in tomorrow if I'm going to do it so I need to get cracking.
Creative
I have some time scheduled later for composition. Not sure if I'll work on Brahms lieder, Barboteu accompaniments, or actual composition of something else.
I also have some time scheduled for non-music creative stuff. I might do some experimental cooking, or I might find the right damn crochet hook and get started on socks. It kindof depends on how my elbow is feeling after writing stuff and balancing that against whether I feel I can face washing-up in addition to the washing-up I already owe.
Wishing
-all the Merkans a happy Thanksgiving. I know there's some controversy about stuff like smallpox blankets and all the rest of it, but to me, Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for what I have, rather than feeling smug because other people don't have it.
-that I'd gone to bed rather earlier last night.
-
penguin_worship a good flight and so on. I might just get down there for your birthday after all, you know...
Wondering
-is anyone going to Fright Club tomorrow night at Mean Fiddler? I might go with

Fire blankets can be used on Class A (Ordinary Combustables), Class B (Oil, Grease, Gasoline), Class C (Electrical) and some Class D (burning metals) fires. The article needs sources. I mention fire blankets because with Chanukah coming up there is often frying, at least in my house, and that reminds me that we need a fire blanket.
