Link Round-Up
Aug. 12th, 2007 04:35 pmAs usual, props to anyone who gave me these links - no, I don't always remember who it was. Also I'm writing this offline, as I'm on the train, so I can't follow things up as much as I'd like.
Feminism Post-Peak - excellent article from Sharon of Casaubon's Book.
Shoulder exercises for arthritis - may also be good for RSI. I do variants of these.
Independent article about TUE. For more information about TUE please see the TUE website or the Yahoo! Group for the experiment. I'm hoping we'll have a proper blog up soon, too.
Green tea could help inflammatory skin diseases. I guess instead of using one part ACV and one part water to rinse my hair, I'll be using one part ACV and one part green tea...Much wootness.
President Robert Mugabe has approved a law that will give the government sweeping powers to monitor the Internet and mobile and fixed telephones in a country where the independent press has been gagged..

Guerilla Gardening: A Manualfesto. Could be an interesting book to own. Personally I think seed balls are the way to go...
Thinking of moving? Find your local "walk score" - fascinating and useful. I'm not sure how accurate it is, though.
Magic Paper seems to be some sort of thin, flexible whiteboard.
Make a ring or a pendant from silver coins. In the US that's pre-1964; I'm not sure about Canada or Britain, but I bet Wikipedia would know. I also wonder about doing the same with copper coins - again, I'd have to make sure they're an appropriate year.
FlyLady's 11 Points to Preparedness for Evacuation - not a bad guide for getting together some initial bits and pieces. With the weather getting ever more volatile I think it's not a bad idea for anyone to be ready to go at a moment's notice. I'd probably ignore the 'pictures' bit, though. Yeah, it's sad to lose them, but they're not necessary for survival.
Blue Lagoon Island Resort for sale on eBay. I don't see any mention of where they get the fresh water supply, though, and I'd want a detailed geological survey... and I can't afford it anyway, of course.
