So, what have I been up to? Lots.
All those assignments I was complaining about have been handed in. Now I have exactly one week until exams start, and this is scary. So, I'm still not going to be around much. Only, we call them assessments instead of exams, just to be different. I still don't know what I'm going to play for the horn one on 17th February. I always have Mozart 3 as standby, I guess, but I'd prefer to play Bach - only the one I'm currently working on is too hard, so I'd have to find a different one and learn it faster, or play one I've been playing for a long time. I've had only one lesson since classes started in January on account of my horn teacher being away, but should be able to fit in three or four before the exam.
I haven't done any busking yet this YEAR. This is bad on many levels. I have my new licence now, though, and intend to phone today to set up some pitches later this week (tomorrow, and probably Thursday night, possibly Thursday morning depending on whether I have faculty studies then, also possibly Friday afternoon).
I went to see the chicken lady on Saturday night and stayed overnight. It was fun. Dancing the Timewarp with fifteen adolescent girls was... interesting, to say the least. Good fun, though, and staying overnight meant I didn't have to get up at such a deathly hour to get to teaching. In one week I go to live there for a month, which will be FUN.
I made more flapjacks. Breakfast continues to be easy and simple.
I have discovered that I really rather like baked potatoes when they are cold, provided I have taken the time to put olive oil and salt on their skins before baking them. This makes my lunch options easy and simple - all I really need to do is to find appropriate good-eaten-cold protein fillings. There are lots of these even if I stick to veggie ones. I have acquired a non-leaky container that is the right size for one baked potato and about the right amount of filling. I may acquire a second of the same type and size to fill with veg or salad, though, as if I'm having flapjacks for breakfast and potato for lunch I'll have to get all my fruit and veg into supper (and snacks I guess), and this could be inconvenient and annoying. I do try to grab a piece of fruit with breakfast as well but whether I end up eating it depends on lots of things (like how much I am carrying and how long I have before class).
A huge parcel came from my mum. She made me a sweater! It is Not Black Enough and it is huge and makes me look frumpy, but it is also wonderfully comfortable and soft and warm. I have been wearing it as sleepingshirt since my room tends to be on the cold side. There are also lots of other lovely things including a cookbook, Red Rose tea and various food from home, plus I have shiny blue paper. I must write her a proper e-mail thanking her properrly and stuff.
My skin has gone all teenager on me. If anything it has got worse since I started Dianette, instead of better, but that stuff can take a while to work and it worked before, so I'm just waiting to see what happens.
Right now I need to find clothes, work out what I need to take with me today and get to Trinity and get some serious practice done. I'll have more time when classes are over but that is no excuse to slack off now.
Later today I need to work out what my schedule will be like during exams (including animal care), so I can book some busking at appropriate times.
In general I need to sleep more. Also, why is it so hard to take vitamins?

Date: 2005-01-31 08:29 am (UTC)Because they're gag-o-rific, and huge! I found a multi-vitamin I can manage, but it didn't have enough of B(something, I can't remember exactly which), so we got more of that, and I cannot even open the bottle without gagging. It's a horrible gag reflex. *shudders at the thought* I should probably look for gel-caps or something.

Date: 2005-01-31 04:00 pm (UTC)Put a decent amount of water in your mouth, tip your head back so you're looking straight up, with your mouth slightly open. Bring your head forward till you're looking straight ahead again. Lo and behold! The pill should have gone, without you even having to take the trouble to swallow.
One way or another I hope you manage with any other pills you have to take
