Dec. 12th, 2005 12:52 pmI really like this picture.
Of course, it doesn't show the other half-to-two-thirds of the sky, which is probably clear-ish, and much of the haze and fog is pre-existing and has nothing to do with the fire, and it looks like it was taken at the time of evening/afternoon when everything is going to look a bit dark and hazy anyway. But such a pretty, dark picture.

Date: 2005-12-12 02:27 pm (UTC)I wish I hadn't been in such a hurry to get a train yesterday morning: I missed one hell of a photograph! Picture a suburban street, red brick, pavements and a road slick with melted frost. In the centre of the frame, a white limestone church glowing in pale winter sunlight, with the steeple bisecting a sky that is itself divided in two: halfway up the steeple, the sky changes from icy blue to a glowering grey-black cloud stretching from horizon to horizon.
I noticed nothing on the train journey up to Leicester, and had no idea of the news until I was asked about it in the afternoon.
