This comment by [livejournal.com profile] cartesiandaemon on a post by [livejournal.com profile] hairyears about the sentience of the internet made me laugh. A lot.

In this post [livejournal.com profile] theferrett is right on form.

I mean, why do I bother writing anything at all? :) I could just read, for ages.

I wish I had another water butt. Our one is full, and I feel sad about all the rain running down the pavement and into the Thames when I could be saving it for my garden this summer.

Ok ... I know "water butt" can't possibly be the image that's popping up in my head ...

No, it's just a big bucket for collecting rainwater (http://www.blackwall-ltd.com/waterefficent.htm). We had a very dry summer here last year and I was glad of being able to collect what rainwater we did get... but the butt we have fills up very quickly in any significant rainfall, and it only collects from half the roof (because the water that hits the other half runs down the other side of the roof), and I think having a few more would be good.

Except, of course, if I have more of them I have less space for growing things. Difficult.

Sometime I will get someone who has a proper camera to come and take lots of pictures of my garden so I can post them on t'intarweb. Maybe when I am having the 'destroy-the-shed-and-build-the-picnic-table-and-eat-veggie-BBQ' party.
