Walking around again, especially through the park on the way to some of my students, has been lovely. Everything has come very alive, especially with the rain we've had the last few days. When I grow up, I want to live near a park. And I want a garden with proper trees.

Went for lunch with [livejournal.com profile] jodydaman yesterday, it was nice. He really IS quiet and shy, but came out of his shell a little bit after some gentle prodding. He also brought me old broken computer bits to make things out of.

My eBay things did not get even one bid, so I have re-listed them at a much lower price.

I now have an English-Hebrew Hebrew-English dictionary.

My desk needs cleaning. So does my room. I found my library books, though, and will take them back today. I also started sorting through some of my own books to see which ones I want to keep and which I do not. Sorting through books is one of the hardest cleaning jobs for me to do. I have a habit of picking the books up and reading them, instead. The best way to do it seems to be in short 10-minute installments, ruthlessly, with music on.

Choir concert tonight. I must at some point before the concert go over the soprano solo; I am supposed to learn it just in case the sopranos have not. I also need to run through the triangle part at least once.

I am going to Bath this weekend. I do not know whether I will leave tonight, or tomorrow morning. Tonight would be better; £5 cheaper, and also far fewer people travelling away for the Bank Holiday weekend. I hope the weather is fine, I don't make much money busking when it is pouring with rain. The forecast is sunny for Sunday, at least, although it claims there will be thunderstorms Friday, and sun and showers Monday. Not too hot yet but might be just a little on the cool side.

I must finish packing.

I do not want to go to the office today. I really just... blerghhhh. I don't wanna go. I have other stuff to do that is more fun. However, I need the money, and I know that once I get there it will not seem so bad. I will have plenty of website stuff to put up (Shavuot stuff and the Parshas), the Genizah stuff is really not the horrible dread yuck work that I am thinking it is, and so on. Maybe there will even be banking to do, affording me a nice walk outside at some point. This is unlikely, as there was banking to do on Tuesday, but it is a possibility, and one I must not discount.

Going to go now and see if I can be in the office before my boss is.

One thing that's so strange about the U.S. is that it has a lot of place names of other countries. Especially English place names.

I grew up in Lancaster. 40 minutes west of Lancaster is York. Bath is in Maine, a good 10 hours northeast of Lancaster. The neighborhood I live in has a lot of English-sounding street names too, like Coventry, Derbyshire, Berkshire, etc.

There are more fun non-english cities in America though. There is a China, Maine. There's an East Berlin, Pennsylvania...but no West Berlin. There's a Hell michigan, and a Purgatory (also in Maine--where else?). And Paradise is in Pennsylvania, of course.

Ohio is unruly, being home to Defiance.

Pennsylvania also has Freedom.

The most amusing city, however, is not in America. It's in Austria. It's called Fucking!
