Many thanks for responses to the packed lunch post. Some thoughts on my part:

-I need to get into the habit of doing 'real' food preparation again, rather than only looking for things that are easy to prepare. When I'm not depressed I'm quite interested in making yummy food, complicated or not. Duh.
-It's time to get my baking back into action. I should have a stock of oatmeal cookies, flapjacks, muffins and other yummy (but a little bit healthy, due to how I make them) treats to throw into my lunch when I'm in a hurry. Store-bought ones are either so full of sugar that I probably shouldn't be eating them, or not really very tasty.
-Salad != lettuce, but I tend to think "lettuce" when people say "salad" unless they specify another type of salad, even though I very rarely make lettuce salads myself.
-pickled cucumbers are good! salty and crunchy and they still count as a vegetable!
-if I'm going to be having nuts as a protein source in my breakfast, it might be overkill to rely on them too much at lunch.
-there are a lot of lunchey salad things I can ewtify by using Greek yoghurt instead of mayonnaise.
-it's probably worth getting some more of that Tivall veggie slicing sausage, which I like.
-sandwiches are a little more bearable when they are disguised by using non-square bread. Rolls and tortilla wraps will fool me into eating a sandwich sometimes. That said, I still don't want sandwiches every day - maybe once or twice a week is quite enough.
-I need to keep a short list of good lunch foods so that I don't get 'stuck'.
-fruit is good, but a sullen banana, apple or orange staring at me isn't always inspiring. However, I know that if I make fruit salad I'll want to eat it. Ditto applesauce and various other strips of fruit purée.

So I did a small grocery shop. I got some tortilla wraps, and some cottage cheese for filling them. I got little cherry tomatoes, because they are salad in and of themselves. I got baby beetroot, because pink food is good, and because beetroot + Greek yoghurt = yum. I got a couple of figs and some nectarines to add to my bananananas and oranges and apples to make fruit salad that is somewhat seasonal without being stupidly expensive. Tomorrow I shall have carrot and beetroot salad, and cottage cheese with sliced cherry tomatoes in a tortilla, and fruit salad. Yes. Fear my healthy lunch.
