-The grass is greener where it is watered. Make of that what you will.

-My aubergine plant has mites or something. They are very tiny, and there is some cobwebby stuff on the upper leaves. I'll have to do a soap spray I guess.

-I'm loving the sunshine. And the beech nuts. And the walnuts. And all of you.

-I wish London weren't so spread out. I mean, it's close-together compared to many cities of comparable population, but... argh. So many of you I'd really like to see more, but there's no sustainable way for me to do it - I have to first make sure I get enough rest and stuff.

-[livejournal.com profile] pfy and I saw a wonderfully gorgeous cat on the way to Tesco last night (we were on the way to Tesco, not the cat - it was on the way to the Matalan delivery/rubbish port, apparently). It was mainly a sort of sandy stone coyote colour, with stripey markings on its tail and feet, and it moved like something wild (but I don't think it's feral, it had a collar and stuff).

-I put the Canajan artwork cards I bought summer 2005 up around my desk, resting on the wooden ledge that is there. There's one by Benjamin Chee Chee, a couple by Bill Reid (in pretty copper and brass!), one by Ioyan Mani, one by Rick Beaver and four by Cecil Youngfox. They don't really go together as the styles are all very different but I love all of them for the sense of motion and life. When I chose carvings (I spent a summer up north in Iqaluit) I also chose them for the sense of motion and life. It's amazing how much something that is essentially still can move. Just saying.

I think when I next go to Canadia I will bring back one or two of my carvings. I miss the big white bird.

-Now that all my academic work is caught up on, I'm hoping to get to Aikido more often, and also hoping to see people a bit more. But I have to pace myself, and I have to make sure I get enough sleep.

-I didn't have my proper breakfast yesterday and today and I'm really noticing a difference in my apetite. Definitely back to proper breakfast tomorrow, then.

-Any minute now, [livejournal.com profile] hairyears will be here and we can go for a walk.

-I am still ridiculously skint. And still tired all the time.

Glad to hear you're having a better day :-)

Do you have a pattern for making hakama? I'm thinking of making my own and I'm reasonably sure you've done just that...

Who, me?

I'd better get out of bed and have a shower.
