music engraving. It doesn't go into a lot of the "why most computer programs still suck at this and Henley is still doing it by hand" but it's still really neat to watch.

It's a grey sort of day.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn music printing software has moved on in the nine years since that film was recorded, and most people do now do it by computer. I also wouldn't be surprised if old-school sticklers for topmost quality like the guy in the video are still doing it by hand, though.

i would prolly use a computer... then mill it into sheatmetal, and then send it to the printers. Having done it on computer i could just print it tho, but more fun the other way, and über more expensive :)
And since that guy is working in what i heard as leadplate, i assume he hasnt slept for 3 decades and is most like dead by now from lead poisoning :)
