I'm in yr pub, eating yr chipzes. Not just any chipzes, mind you. Hand-cut chipzes. I think the chef's hands must be sore by now.

1 - Three things that you have done today that have made you happy (even if it's just for a second)
2 - Three things you *could* do (within reason) that would make you happy
3 - Three things you would like to do (without reason) to make you happy
4 - Three things that you are looking forward to in the next 7 days
5 - Three people who make you happy
6 - If I were with you right now, how would I make you smile?
7 - Do you feel happier?

Date: 2006-11-22 02:16 am (UTC)I spent ages trying to figure out why the till wasn't booting (via DHCP/TFTP/etc. under control of a PXE bootrom). It appeared to be able to send packets fine, but could only receive them very occasionally. I went back to the Pembury to retrieve my networking tools and spare cable to make a replacement cable - no luck. Plugging the cable into my laptop Just Worked, so it wasn't the cable or the network.
Eventually I turned off the till. When I turned it on again it Just Worked. Aargh! (During testing I'd been hitting the reset switch, not turning it off.) It must have been something along the lines of the network controller failing to start up properly the first time I switched it on.
Bloody computers! I don't know why I bother sometimes!
