Someone is coming to visit for a few days. They are bringing a Christmas hamper with them. What would you hope to see in it?

That seems like a very big hamper to me for a guest to bring, unless they're coming in a lorry...

Books! Many, many books.

Money is always nice, too.

The recipe for the above
Their fantastic secret mulling spice mix
Kaoka dark orange chocolate in the shape of an orange
A batch of Mater's mince pies, still hot from the oven

Hmm - this list is growing at a scary speed :-)

Homemade goods, possibly including pie, cake, coookies, and/or candy.
Nice jars of things.

Things in a hamper are ideally things which either keep well for a long time for a season of potential generosity overdose or long periods of incipient travel; or else can be consumed right away with minimal additional prepraration fuss.

Probably an antidote to 'normal' Christmas food - lots of light things rather than the really rich stuff that you normally get at Christmas.

I would hope it was decorated with tinsel, and little lights, and was cute, and had little whiskers and wheel to run round and round so it didn't get bored.
