Busking yesterday was completely crap. I found out after I got there that they have had a lot of complaints about that pitch from the buskers - the sound is really bad (it's right in front of this weird stuff with holes in that they have everywhere to keep the noise levels down - not an ideal place to play horn) and there is not quite enough traffic. Still, I played the whole two hours with only one fifteen-minute break, so my endurance is not as poor as I thought it would be. The nice look-after-the-buskers man (there were two actually, one from LU and one from Carling, who is sponsoring the whole scheme atm) told me that when the scheme is continued in the autumn they will be getting rid of some of the crap pitches and expanding to include pitches at some more stations. Note the bold. Not if the scheme continues, but when! I asked him if that meant it was continuing for sure, and he said yes. *bounce*

So, I've got to try some other pitches, see if this is actually a viable way of making money. I only made about £14 in the two hours which I consider very poor (anything under £10/hour is bad) but then, I'm surprised I made so much given the acoustics and given that there was no stationery audience, just people walking past. Also, nearly all of it was in pound coins and 50p coins. I got a lot less of the casual shrapnel that I usually get in Bath. And I did not get rained on, and there is CCTV at the station, and I got checked on twice to make sure I was okay.

I had some trouble finding the pitch at first but nice person who works at the station not only gave me directions but also took me right to the pitch. Yay.

All in all it was a positive experience.

I want a new bank - anyone have any recommendations? HSBC and Barclays are both in the runnings as they are near where I live. Abbey National would also be a possibility, or Lloyds TSB. I do want to be able to get to a physical branch (kindof necessary for depositing large amounts of coinage) so that about rounds them up. I have decided that NatWest are actually evil. I am tired of them messing up, I am tired of them messing around.

I got two reversible wrap-around skirts, in Camden. They match parts of my already-existing wardrobe, so I am happy. They are light and summery and should stop me from frying quite so badly in the office. I nearly bought a set of pyjamas (maybe they were not meant to be pyjamas but to me they just screamed pyjama) as well but decided not to. Now I wish I had. Maybe next month. I only really have one set and I am finding that I like pyjamas better than nightgowns these days. I need a set for when the first set is in the wash.

I have many long black skirts, and all of them are falling apart or need mending in one way or another. This might be related to the fact that all of them came from second-hand shops or cheap market stalls of one sort or another. I think that it might be worth venturing into the scariness that is Marks and Spencer and finding one or two good quality black skirts, which are less likely to fall apart with the sort of wear I give them. For now I will sort the skirts I do have into the ones I can be bothered to mend, and the ones I cannot be bothered to mend. I am tired of looking for the clothing that is 'least tatty' rather than stuff that is nice and I actually want to wear, when it is time to get dressed.

I forgot in my last post, of course, that although the carbohydrate in parsnips has a high glycaemic index, parsnips themselves do not contain THAT much sugar - they are mostly water - you'd have to eat one hell of a lot of them to get the 100g carbohydrate used for glycaemic index testing. So, the glycaemic load of one parsnip is really not all that bad. Yay. I want to find more information about glycaemic load.

I lost one of my contact lenses again, after only wearing it 4 or 5 times. I'm starting to think that maybe I should switch to daily throw-aways... but I can't really justify the expense. I will just have to be more careful with the lenses.

The hairfalls didn't sell. Grah. Any pointers on what I need to do differently? Or should I be putting them somewhere that is not eBay? I know the pictures kindof sucked but I have sold hairfalls with worse pictures in the past, so I'm reluctant to blame it all on that. Grah. GRAH I SAY!

That about sums it up.
