[livejournal.com profile] pfy got me a wonderful CD rack for Christmas. It is big enough to hold all my CDs, I think, and will also function as a side-table for the living room, to go beside the sofa.

The catch is that it is metal and I cannot transport it. I am not currently strong enough to get it from [livejournal.com profile] pfy's house to Leytonstone Tube station without injuring myself. To be honest it's a bit much for one person even if they are healthy - the best way to transport it would be with wheels of some sort underneath.

I'd quite like to get the thing here so that I can put CDs on it (and they can come off the bookshelves and I'll have a bit more shelfspace yay!), I do have a wheely suitcase that it could be tied/bungeed/whatever to - but again, I'm not really up to transporting it, even on the wheely suitcase (although I think this would be a reasonable thing for a person of good physical health to attempt). If someone else is wiling to do this for me I will cook them dinner.

Any takers?

I have a shopping trolley that also does pretty good service as a handy set of wheels (the fabric bag just pulls off). It's how I get a guitar, mandolin, recorder, flute and full set of morris gear from Walthamstow to Hornchurch for morris practice. I'm sure between the two of us we can wrestle it there; I could probably rope in [livejournal.com profile] eyeliner297 to help too, if need be.

I also have a metal trolley with straps designed for moving heavy boxes and large things, which could perhaps be helpful. It was used to transport a fold-up table on Friday and is a gods-send from my lovely ex.

I could help get it to Leytonstone Tube station for you. Probably not on my own. Could do this evening or early tomorrow evening?

I'd be entirely happy to help you transport it.

I will help if needed.

Further info for readers: If no vehicle is available, then it really will need two people or some sort of wheely thing to carry it to Leytonstone Tube station (it's heavyish and an awkward size, and a 10-15 minute walk, so it would be a serious PITA to move it unassisted). Getting it to the Tube station is going to be the biggest part of the job - once there, there's only the change at Stratford and the walk from Island Gardens to Chez Ewt, which are both considerably shorter distances.

I can't volunteer a car, but I have a car driver in-house I can ask.

I'm planning on staying over in Leytonstone tonight; are you likely to be around tomorrow morning to give me a hand with the CD rack?

Unfortunately I have to be at the brainhacker by 13.30 so have to leave here by 12.30 so it really does have to be morning, unless I'm going to go back, in which case I may as well leave it until evening and ask someone who has one of those car things.

If you're not really doing mornings at the moment then that is fine; I'd rather not disrupt your sleep schedule.

Ack - also, I don't want to take the wheely suitcase all the way to Hendon and back and won't be going home between teaching, Pembury and Leytonstone. Um.

Do you have a wheely suitcase or other suitable wheeled device?

I don't, unfortunately - no wheels whatsoever. Also, I am being spectacularly bad at mornings at the moment.
