B-Movie was good, except I couldn't dance at all because my hip was too hurty. Still, it was good to talk to some people and sortof bop a bit, and it was good to dress up. And I got a probable hairfall order, which I must work on this week along with other paid making-stuff-for-people things. I should get going on the hairfalls again, really I should. I wish selling them wasn't such a PITA, because I really do enjoy making them. That girl I gave 8 pairs of falls to last summer to sell hasn't sold a single pair and I'm going to have to get them back and sell them myself; it would be good to do this before Whitby. No, I'm not going, but lots of other people will be looking for costume stuff.

Teaching was fine. Last session at that Bayswater venue and we don't know where we'll go next term. Hopefully somewhere with better facilities.

Mooched around downtown for a bit. Saw a Strida at Velorutions; their rental bikes were all out but there was one in for repairs to have a look at. I still want one (especially since cycling is one of the things that is okay for me to do with hypermobility), and I'm still not buying one yet.

Got a second pair of jeans from Long Tall Sally, so I now have two pairs that fit - one blue, one black. This means I can consign the ill-fitting ASDA jeans to the 'spares for when I'm really out of laundry' category, and the current 'spares' to the mending/making stuff pile.

And, fell asleep last night and didn't finish this. Which is just fine. [livejournal.com profile] pfy came and took away some dead laptops, yay. I arranged for someone else to have a look at the random desktop cases, with a view to taking one away if it suits his purpose. Gradually, the mess will fade. Or shrink. Or something. Need to organise another Geek Scrapheap Challenge, now that I have my Saturdays back for a bit.

For now? I need to get going and get out and teach.

It's so wonderful, not having to leave at half seven in the morning. I know that isn't that early to some of you but for me right now it is, I'm still finding it difficult to get awake when it's dark in my room and it doesn't really get properly light until 8-ish.

There is such a dearth of good music theory method books in this country. Bah.

Probably taking 4th March and moving all the teaching to later in the week; lots of people will be busy with Purim etc and I've been invited up to Leicester to visit [livejournal.com profile] hairyears' father, and it would be nice not to have to rush off on Saturday night as I usually do. In the end it will depend whether my students can do alternate times, though.

Speaking of music theory, can you recommend me somewhere on the internet (or a book, but the internet would be better since it makes it easier to point other people at it) that explains the basics of four-part harmony? I'm thinking of the stuff I did at music A-level where you get given a melody and you have to figure out which chords to assign the notes to and then you write the bass, tenor, and alto parts to fit in with those chords. I totally can't remember how to go about it, though I remember it being pretty straightforward.
