Slightly confused initially - too many Londons with rivers called the Thames! But yeah, not good. Have you read any of Carl Hiaason's journalism (and indeed his fiction), re similar things that have happened in Florida over the past 50 or 60 years?

Is that why the river was so high this year? It came almost up to our townhouses on Bridle Path (Kipps/Adelaide area). We and our dog love our river path and have seen the errosion along the Thames.
Recently, my fiance [livejournal.com profile] caliban18 participated in the Council of Canadians photo contest downtown. It was for the International Year of Fresh Water (he won two honorable mentions, btw). They talked a bit about the pollution of the Thames but not about this! Ack!
