boks

I have a box from Canada, full of things I couldn't quite get into my suitcase when I came back this summer.

I have some sweaters my aunt made. They're far too big, but I can alter them, or just accept their huge-oversized-sweatery goodness.

I have a warm black skirt bought in a second-hand shop this summer. I've been wanting it lately, with the "colder" weather, and I am very glad it is here.

I have crackers. I have Stoned Wheat Thins, and I have some Premium Plus soup crackers. Can't get soup crackers here. I have Red Rose tea, which is good because I'm nearly out. There are some other bits and pieces as well; CDs, a USB flashlight thing, ornaments, razor refills. A sweater [livejournal.com profile] lynnyn's mother made for me when I was small, that I was sure I'd unravelled and added to my huge blanket, but I guess I didn't. Maybe I will make a scarf. I don't have any close friends that have children the right age for it, I'm not going to keep it around until I have kids, and I don't want it going to just anyone. And you can never have too many scarves...

One of my mum's tee shirts was in the box, too. It has dog hairs on it, from Madden, and it smells of Mother and Home and Safe and it made me cry, because my mum sent me a hug.

I miss you, Mum. I miss all my family. I love my life in London, and it's as much home to me as anywhere is, in lots of ways, but don't think for a moment that I don't miss all of you.

We have the box for number 53, too, because they weren't home. It will be interesting to meet more of our neighbours.
