mostly medical whinge )

This afternoon I'm meant to be going for a brief forage with [livejournal.com profile] pfy and making nettle soup, but I may wimp out of that if I'm still feeling like crap. Curling up in front of the fire and eating soft, easy food currently seems like a much better option.

Tomorrow is teaching, and heading for Tottenham to look after a very sweet cat; I'll be there until 19th March. I don't think I'm going to make it to the games night at the Pembury on Sunday night because by the time I've finished teaching the cat will have been on her own for quite some time, and will be hungry and stuff, poor dear. This is subject to change if I can move lessons around so that I finish earlier in the day and actually have a chance to go home AND to the Pembury (which is really not far from the place I'll be calling 'home' for the next week).
Has anyone used a one of these countertop dishwashers? Bending to do washing-up is not great for me, and this looks like a very efficient model in terms of energy and water consumption. I'm wondering about installation and stuff, though.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] hairyears is looking to get some work done on his apartment in Enfield. Can any of you recommend competent builders? We're talking about replacing a bathroom fan and pretty much re-doing the entire kitchen (new cooker and cabinets, though the washer, boiler, refrigerator and freezer will stay) and so on. Recommendations for appliances also welcome.
