Link Round Up
Oct. 28th, 2007 01:18 pmThis has been overdue for a long while!
Silicone contaminants could drift north. Not yummy. What's in your hair gel?
Why Americans (and by extension most of us in the West) should eat more crap.
Exercises for back pain.
UK Abortion Law Change. Scary stuff. Also scary is the police stuff that I've lost the BBC link for.
Wonderful post on Attitude.
Pretty things!
Windbelt - could be a good thing. Non-turbine wind generator. Looks pretty easy to build, even. I wonder what it's like for noise? Probably not too bad.
Sleep bolsters emotional control. Could have told you that one. Has anyone studied the benefits of a short afternoon nap vs. staying awake all day?
I am tired of a) bra-top things with straps that fall down and b) not having enough vests to wear one every day (I get cold a lot at Trinity but when I am playing I get quite warm and need to be able to take most layers off). This seems an appropriate solution. Now to find a fair trade, organic equivalent. Where to find a racerback top with hidden shelf support that isn't made by 6-year-olds in Taiwan?
Kiva vs. MicroPlace - what's the difference?
Care and maintenance of rotary valves.
Humans failing sustainability audit. Knew that too.
Terabyte thumb drives, eventually.
OnOneMap has been very useful for finding possible places to live.
hairyears bought me a one of these for my birthday.
pfy bought me a breadmaker. Happy ewt! UNK!
Useful account of what one person's experience of ADD is like. I think I might be forwarding this one to Student Services.
I have graduated from using Grotto Grips to using triangular pencils. I can write with these and not get sore. Unfortunately, the only place I have been able to find the pencils in an Actual Shop is as part of a set (of 2 pens, pencil and highlighter), available from ASDA. I use the pencils more than anything else, and keep losing them (leaving them behind at students' houses, for the most part). I do not need more highlighters or triangular pens at this point. Thanks to
fjm I have found a website which stocks my pencils. YAY!
Abortion rates no different where abortion is illegal.
Woman with no legs is having a mermaid's tail made to help her swim. What it says on the tin. Sounds fascinating!
Citizens Required. Am I missing something here, by not having TeeVee?
