Ugh.

The backing track I have is using much lower tempi than those to which I am accustomed for three of the movements. I'll have to decide whether to adapt or try to find different tracks.

Maybe it'll make more sense when playing.

couldn't you extract to wave file, then adjust the tempo, erm, using an audio program? there must be free ones on the net.

Possibly. I don't have much knowledge of either the appropriate software and whatever else that I would need to do this - obviously it would have to stay at the same pitch.

Also the CD drives on my machine are kindof screwed, can't get either of them to play without massive amounts of skipping, I suspect it is Windoze but I'm really not sure, it could be the trashy horrid little on-board soundcard ([livejournal.com profile] shevek nicked the Delta44 back since I wasn't using it, which was because I did not have software I actually knew how to use and had no help with learning the stuff that did come with it, which was all sample stuff anyway and blah blah fucking blah). Also, my hard drive has about 500MB free and I need to do something about this, probably, before I can do too much messing about. Grah to it.

So, yes, in theory, but in practice it is probably better for me to either adapt or find a different recording, and try to get the basics down before investing too much yak-shaving time in this.

Probably.

We should do this again sometime. When are you in London? Ack I don't even remember if you are still living in Bristol.
