Sep. 13th, 2005 03:36 pmAikido last night was good. I got to start learning forward rolls. They are scary, but I did not get hurt. I can see that after a bit of practise I will be able to do them. My backward rolls are still noisy, my back isn't the right sort of round when I land and so it makes a noise. I don't seem to be able to get my back to bend that way at all, even when I lean over to touch toes and uncurl slowly there are bits that stay straight. I am trying not to worry about it much, though.
So tired. Got to bed at about quarter past midnight last night, which isn't too bad all things considered but is still after midnight.
Starting to feel tempted to go to Borders after all, just for tea though, I'll eat before I go.
Need to phone and book some busking for Thursday morning and maybe Friday evening. Other phonecall stuff to do as well.
Need to pay cheques into bank. This is always the worst bit of being skint - having cheques and waiting for them to clear, and not having enough cash in the meantime. This is another reason for busking Thursday morning.
I'm not sure how much of this stuff will actually get done. I'm starting to feel fed up and stressed and I think I might be better off going for a walk, picking some sloes, cleaning the kitchen, washing my hair, then having a bite to eat and going to Borders for tea and then seeing how much adminstrative stuff I can still do when I get back. I got a lot done today in academic terms, and I plan to use much of tomorrow morning for other life-maintenance things.
I ate during updating the academic filter earlier today in order to use my lunch break to go and look at a mattress from Freecycle. I've decided to take it; now I just have to figure out how to get it from there to here. I'm willing to pay petrol and some remuneration for this if any of you who drive are interested. If nobody says anything I'll have to hire a man with van, I guess.
I've been invited to a wedding reception for someone I don't even know, one of the people who used to train at the Aikido dojo I'm at.
Okay time to get out of here (library at Trinity, since I had to return books anyway) and get some fresh air.
