bursary, new specs
May. 16th, 2006 06:14 pmI should look into this bursary. Really. The deadline is convenient, too. That amount of money would be a dream to me. I could get another horn, some really good computer and recording equipment, and still only teach if I feel like it (which I generally do, but that isn't the point). I wouldn't have to busk (I'd still keep my licence, I think, and go maybe once a month for the hell of it).
ksta, you might be interested in this composition wossname.
I've chosen a pair of glasses. The frames are children's frames and fit me perfectly; they cost £55. They are metal frames with sprung hinges so they're harder to destroy. I've splurged on way expensive lenses. They still won't have cost what Vision Express wanted from me for not-as-good-quality stuff. I should have them within a week - not as fast as I'd like but hopefully the tape on these will hold.
I might be persuaded to get some of those memory wire frames as a second pair, sometime in the future, if I can find some that suit me. Durability is good, and if the frames are durable enough I can have the lenses replaced rather than having to buy all new glasses so often. However, that is not for the near future, because expensive. In the near future, in fact as soon as my new glasses come, I will go back to Specsavers and LART them until they replace these broken frames.
I might go back to ASDA for contact lenses because the salesperson there was so helpful when I was in a bind. I'll have to see.
Going to a concert at Trinity tonight with
pfy. Must get caught up on those concert reports.
I didn't do much today except chase spectacles, but that was an important thing.
