Several weeks ago I looked up addresses for various people from my past. I got in touch with my Grade VI teacher, Mrs. H. I took an address for Gemma, a friend from Southampton I've lost touch with over time. I couldn't find Dana, who was an almost daily after-school playmate from about 1988 to 1991, but found an old address in St. Albert (which I always want to call Prince Albert), and meant to send a card there sometime soon.

Only she's beat me to it, she managed to find my dad and asked for my e-mail address and e-mailed me. Yay!

What else? Yesterday, eventually, was gardening. There is less crap in the garden now. Also I bought 60L of dirt, marked out where the vegetable plot actually goes, did some weeding. [livejournal.com profile] hairyears performed miracles on the "lawn" with a pair of shears. It's now possible to walk on the grass instead of through it. Also boiled lots of water for killing ants. The hailstorm looked and sounded spectacular but didn't actually drop a lot of water. The greywater tank still pongs, not a surprise considering the rubbish it had in it before it was used as greywater tank, I guess I will have to dump it out and give it a good scrubbing. Eww.

This morning I went for a walk with [livejournal.com profile] mstevens and got a couple of tyres from that lot where they've been dumped. Now I have dirt, I have tyres, I can start a potato stack! And not a moment too soon, the potatoes in this house are getting quite out of hand.

What else? Last week I planted flax, poppies, dill. And some soya beans I'd been sprouting that had gone a bit off. All seem to be doing well. Hooray! And the strawberry flowers are open.

I weigh more than I would like to, I am larger than I would like to be, and I'm not as fit as I'd like - walking up the stairs from the Grennitch Foot Tunnel today left me more out of breath than I ought to be. After exams, I'm going to go back on The No S Diet. I tried it a bit at the end of last summer but it kindof fell apart when I was very depressed in the autumn. Also, I'm going to start running again. Unsure of program to start with; might try this one as it's so much less fiddly than all the run-for-one-minute-walk-for-90-seconds ones. After exams, though. I really cannot afford to be doing this before exams. I need all my wherewithal for practising at the moment.

Also after exams I'm updating my wishlist. It's silly out-of-date.

Oddly enough, so was I. This was rather worrying: it's not a lot of exercise.

I haven't, for years.

I know her name was Nicole Haycock, and I'm pretty sure that for a long time she lived in Linden, Alberta.

Might be more information here (http://music.ffa.ucalgary.ca/summer/summer-band-workshops/index.html).

Further research suggests she is teaching at:

R T Alderman Junior High School
725 Mapleton Drive, S.E. Calgary, AB T2J 1S1

Might be worth dropping her a letter there.
