Jun. 4th, 2006 11:44 pmAll the tired.
Teaching was okay considering it's been half-term and Yomtov, so my students haven't practised much. Not everyone made good progress but nobody actually slid backwards. This is good.
The cheesecake, it is good. I had a piece of a weird 'no-bake' cheesecake this morning courtesy of a student, that was also good; it was cream cheese mixed with whipped double cream, a sort of creamcheese fool almost, and had blackcurrants in, so it was purple. It was yummy and I highly approve of purple foods, but my cheesecake is in a completely different category. My cheesecake is so big and heavy, it has its own gravitational field. I've had to cut it up for storage to stop the refrigerator falling in on itself. My cheesecake is smooth and lovely and creamy and mild. It came out very well indeed this year.
Rehearsal was good, too.
I have lots of academic work to do. Going to try to go for a run in the morning beforehand, on the grounds that I felt remarkably clear-headed after the last time I ran.
It is warm. I can't find my hat. I know I had it yesterday.
The ants have decided coming into the inside is a good idea.
mstevens and I disagree with them and are taking steps to discourage them.
I need to start getting up and out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, instead of pressing 'snooze'.
I made elderflower sorbet. Or I tried. I made the syrup too thick, though, so it won't freeze properly. Chemistry is weird shit. Sugar = solid at room temperature. Water = thing that freezes in our freezer. Sugar + water in the right quantities = thick goo that won't crystallise or freeze properly at all. Delicious with Greek yoghurt, but what isn't? I've added some water adn stirred it in well in hopes that I might get it down to an edible consistency and flavour (it's rather too sweet for sorbet at the moment anyway).
Me go sleep now.

Date: 2006-06-05 07:46 am (UTC)(It can come in any colour you like, most of fruit but I can also add colouring if desired ;) I'm tempted to, for you, do a combination of naturally-pink and naturally-purple.)
