-I get to run tomorrow
-sunny days when my laundry dries quickly
-spaghetti squash has sprouted
-pink hair dye
-legs that feel strong after running
-my accompanist is going to learn the music by Monday
-I'm going to Aikido tonight
-last exam on Monday.

Date: 2006-06-12 01:40 pm (UTC)If focusing on the positive things helps me to feel happier, and that in turn enables me to deal with what negative things there may be in an effective manner, I fail to see a downside here. It's all too easy to become discouraged when one chooses to focus only on the trials and tribulations of life. I don't want to spend my life only looking at the problems.
What does all being equal have to do with gratitude, or with the existence of God? I'm not sure I follow you, here.
Personally I have a very strong belief in God, but possibly not in the terms that many people would frame a higher power.
