Thanksgiving
Oct. 8th, 2006 11:16 amGiving thanks for:
-wonderful friends and partners, who share my interests and values enough that I'm never really stuck on my own if I don't want to be.
-a family who love and care for me
-a housemate who is patient with my messiness and disorganisation despite the extent to which it inconveniences him.
-people who don't give up on me
-a warm roof over my head at night
-a garden I can grow food in
-public land from which to forage
-shops full of lovely things in case I ever need anything
-citalopram, which got me through some pretty serious despair
-therapy, which may well change my life
-lots of support from Student Services at Trinity, which got me through my second year coursework
-memories of forests full of scarlet, golden and orange leaves
-a crisp, bright day to do my gardening in pleasant company
-poi
-music
-a healing elbow that will be fine
-other people being brave enough to put the spiders out
-having enough clothing that I can designate some for 'grubby' jobs
-access to clean water for washing and drinking
-a public transport network that actually goes
-student discounts
-the internet
-text messaging
-aloe vera plants
-sloes
-every skill I've ever learned or used, whether I taught myself or was taught by someone else.
-cats
Plenty more where that came from, and they aren't in any particular order.
