Da Interview
May. 29th, 2003 12:45 pmThe agency interview went well, although it ran late and my boss at Yakar was a bit stressed (she left her keys behind again and was locked out, and not being able to get hold of me as my ringer was off made her a bit unhappy).
They made me do a typing test - maybe they didn't believe me that my typing is 80wpm? dunno. Anyway, on the typing test I got 102wpm. Go me. I rock. They seemed quite happy with me. I was a little nervous so when the interviewer asked me questions I was starting by repeating the question back, dunno if that is good or bad, but when the interviewer talked to the prospective employer on the phone about me she said 'enthusiastic and energetic' The office was hot and there was no water offered... but she's going to negotiate a higher rate per hour than I had originally been told, which is good.
I have to go to an interview at the actual office, tomorrow morning. If it goes well, I start Monday! The hours are such that I can keep working at Yakar without dropping too many of my Yakar hours, and teach easily later in the afternoons and evenings. It's fairly local (the Hendon-edge of Colindale). I should be able to cycle or maybe even walk (although cycling would be faster), although tomorrow I will probably take the good ol' reliable Tube, just because. Mostly because I am a traffic wimp on the bicycle.
Thanks for all the luck for this morning's interview. It went well. I'll take some of it and apply it to tomorrow's as well!
