Da Weekend
Jun. 15th, 2003 11:06 pmFriday I managed to get to Battersea and back to pick up my busking license. Yay! Then came home and packed hastily and went to camp.
The bus driver parked in the wrong spot and it would have taken him about 20 minutes to get to the right spot, so we had to move. I was not impressed.
We got there, got set up,played games, ate supper, played games, then cake and bed. The cake was a mistake (I did try to tell them that sugar right before bed was a bad idea...) and they did not settle down for hours, and were up again at 5.30. Yuck. Saturday was games, then breakfast, then changing into uniform for the Shabbat service, then lunch, then back out of uniform, then games.... you get the idea. This time we did NOT give them cake. At 10.30pm we told them to put their pyjamas on and then come back to the main hall for a drink of water. Only two of them made it back for the water - -they were so exhausted they went to bed voluntarily! Yay! So did we. Slept wonderfully until 7.30am, and missed the before-breakfast games.
Today was more of the same, really.
Came back from camp, had a shower and some food and a rest, and then went to teh choir concert. I was supposed to sing a solo but they cancelled it on me, which is annoying; I had even practised. They cancelled it because the rest of the choir did not know their parts well enough. Otherwise the concert was okay though. Someobyd played the first Bach cello suite and failed to keep time.
Now I am home and I am exhausted and I am going to bed.
Any questions?
