Oh, cool. Plans and software and documentation for a desktop fabricator that costs about £1200 to put together. Yeah, this is still more than I could afford, but... wow. And you could use it to make things out of chocolate. How wonderful is that?

This is a fishtank. It's also full of adverts, sorry. It reminds me quite a bit of The Cats' House (unfortunately not working at the moment), only the fish people have a slightly more moderate sense of the use of colour in interior design.

How we manage cities may be key to global warming and solving poverty. Of the 3 billion urban dwellers today, 1 billion live in “slums,” defined as areas where people cannot secure key necessities such as clean water, a nearby toilet, or durable housing.

This is quite a nifty little gadget for reducing the amount of plant-watering needed, both through collecting water from soil evaporation and from collecting dew water at night. I might try to make something similar for my potted plants.

This (http://reprap.org/) seems even cooler (mentioned in the first article). It's not quite as far along yet, but when it is... look out world! :D

Doesn't do overhanging surfaces (so you can only create sandcastle-like piles of stuff, also most of them don't work that well.
