And it's still falling, too. Hopefully it will keep it up an not turn into sleet and make slush.
If you have DM-like boots, or hiking boots, today is a day for wearing them. Trainers will just slide all over the place - they do NOT walk well on snow.
Hopefully this won't fuck up trains too much for those of you reliant on them.
When I am less "urgh, morning, huh?" I will go out and make a snow angel.

Date: 2007-01-24 10:51 am (UTC)My indian co-worker has no coat! (tho he does have reasonable boots on).
MY UK co worker came with a light coat and trainers.
And people laughed at me when I packed flannel PJs.
I have on trainers, but I suspect they count as hiking boots as they've got treads on the bottom, but they look like trainers. I'm the only one who bought gloves and a scarf.
To be fair, when we left the weather forecast looked hopeful, but its still snowing outside.

Alternatively: if you have trainers, wear them; don't try walking in good shoes (mine at any rate have no traction whatsoever).
Now watch me fall off my bike on the way to work. (Last year, when we got snow—probably more than we've got today—I thought, I can manage this, so long as I stay in ruts where other traffic has gone. I was fine until I left the ruts to swerve around a speed bump. Fortunately, there was enough hard-packed ice when I hit the road, I merely skidded along it for fifteen feet. As there's no ice today, just a thin layer of snow, I had better be careful. Fortunately, I learn from my mistakes.)
