1) how often does is there 22mph wind constantly? (iirc wind power production is logarithmic, 5mph wind will not generate 1kW) 2) What use is 100v DC to anyone? 3) once you add a storage battery and inverter you would be lucky to get 1kW
According to the DTI windspeed database (http://www.dti.gov.uk/energy/sources/renewables/renewables-explained/wind-energy/page27326.html) 4.6m/s (10m above ground) at isle of cats so that's more like 0.5 kWh before losses.

I already have an inverter.
The only reason it wouldn't pay for itself is that my utilities are already included in my rent.
