Free Cone Day is Tuesday 17th April. Yay! And the one in Greenwich will be participating. Will I be there? You bet...

Tried to get in touch with someone from my Branton year - she wrote a poem for a French class and had me set it to music. Only place I can find her is LinkedIn and they want money or for me to already have her e-mail address in order to contact her. Blah. But now I know where she works (IBM), I may be able to find her some other way, like writing snailmail to the three people with her name in Ontario and seeing if I get an answer back. Why do I want to do this? Partly to see if she still has the words to the poem somewhere, and if so to ask her if she minds them being released under CC license. I don't even know if she'll remember me.

Lovely day today - met [livejournal.com profile] rosefox and [livejournal.com profile] sinboy at Marine Ices, wandered around Camden helping them spend their money, then spent a small amount of my own after they had to go.

I did look for sarongs but didn't find any that were less than £10 and also a good size and colour; might have another go another time, closer to summer perhaps. I'm thinking sewing a patchwork silk one might be my best bet at this point.

So, lots of walking around today. Lots of walking around yesterday too - [livejournal.com profile] secretlondon came with me to Mudchute Farm to record animals. We saw baby lambs! Little tiny ones! One born yesterday! CUUUTE!

There is wild rocket out in one or two places already and the fennel is nearly big enough to eat.

This year I want to learn umbelliferae properly. So far I've avoided them because hemlock and fool's parsley are so scary, but once I know what I'm doing the actual identification should not be a problem.

Ooooh, nothing nicer than griddled fennel. Hmmmmmm...

Get a free cone for me, will you? ;)

I don't pull them up, I just eat the leafy bits from the top; I don't think these would work so well for what you mean.

Not really, no. Just the fennel herb is nice enough, though.
