I'm not having a baby any time soon, but I've fallen in love with some of the fabrics of the baby slings at this site. Beautiful, beautiful-looking fabric. Expensive, though. I wonder if they could be used for carrying other things. I have a sari or two I could experiment with, I guess.

Essential tones of music rooted in human speech. I thought Kodaly went into this already? Although not in such great detail, to be fair.

Some people wear puppies in the hotsling type of sling. Probably the cradle tie is the closest analog. Of course, this necessitates getting a puppy. ;)

That article is interesting, but a bit too simplistic, I think. They don't seem to be taking into account musical cultures that don't use a 12 tone system (Indian music, for example).
