Link Round Up
Jun. 12th, 2007 12:01 amMuch belated! I'm at home from Aikido with a very sore back and a skin infection tonight - nothing serious but bouncing around the mat wouldn't do me much good. Time to clean up some tabs...
Buy RedShira's Paintings Please, or commission new ones from her.
These posters of the internets are so going onto my wishlist. Really.
Do any of you geeks have a one of these I could borrow or beg? I want to make my printer work. I probably need help from Geek Friends to do this.
This has probably done the rounds now but I was delighted by CatCam.
There are times we all just want to hide away from the world...
I linked to it already, but if you are in Britain do go and see Taking Liberties.
If I had my own place I'd get a few of these. It's half-tempting to buy land and then put a few of these on it, in fact; for housing they're not that expensive. But, I couldn't even afford the land or the buildings separately, at this point.
I have the attention span of a gnat tonight, so forgot about this post and did other stuff instead. That's all you get for now, folks.

Date: 2007-06-12 09:54 am (UTC)Also, I love the look of these things (http://www.artolive.com/showwork.php?mg=16&sg=16&p_att_1=8&p_val_1=81576267&p_type_1=AND&p_att_2=1&p_val_2=134809125&p_type_2=AND&workId=122953&lgType=sg&lgAtt=16&lgVal=122953&lgAction=&lgWorkId=122953&PHPSESSID=54c3317965eec64c465823c80e8c216f). Some urban horror film, the city center, when the sun goes down. Mixed in with all the normal commuters, just that one or two like that perched on benches, shadows for faces, watching and still...

Date: 2007-06-13 12:18 am (UTC)However, what really confuses me, is the follow claim:
"USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface provides up to 12Mbps data throughput, so printing is much faster compared when connected to standard 25 pin female parallel port."
This doesn't make sense to me, since the bottleneck would be the parallel protocol, which this cable still is to speak at the printer side, or the printer itself. Having big bandwidth to this device doesn't help as far as I can see, if the second half of the path (the device to the printer) is limited.
I guess it's unimportant to you, since you'll use it to be able to use your printer, rather than to speed up printing. Still seems like false advertising to me though. :P
