How exactly does one go about finding out whether one has Alpha Delta Sleep Disorder? Also, what (if any) treatments are available? I think this could be a root of many fibro/ME/CFS illnesses, although obviously I'm not medically trained or saying that there are not other causes as well.

Can any of you chemistry geeks identify this molecule?

This bothers me. I see no mention of the fact that obesity may be a symptom of other risk factors, rather than a cause. I know "correlation" is not the same as cause, but the vast majority of people reading this won't think that far. All other things being equal obesity may not actually be all that bad, it's just that all other things are very rarely equal. Better to tell prospective mothers to make sure they are eating a healthy diet with plenty of fresh veg and some fruit, and getting adequate exercise and rest, than to tell them to lose weight, especially when so many weight-loss diets involve restriction in nutrient intake. GRAH. I feel strongly about this. I really feel that fit fat people are likely to be healthier than unfit slim people.

Vancouver in summer is warm shocker. At least people are taking a hint from one power failure and trying to be sensible about it where they can.

Copper is getting expensive. Even when you take into account the crapness of the US dollar at the moment, that's a lot.

We're having that problem over here with copper thieves ripping out sections of signal cabling along the railways, phone wires, etc. When the floods were happening the power went off in big area, and the buggers stole those cables too. [all except one, who got caught by the power coming back on suddenly.]

One wonders whats gonna happen when iron is the next metal to go up in price.
