[livejournal.com profile] mirrorshard and I need somewhere to crash in Edinburgh on Sunday night (22nd July). We were originally going to go up on the Saturday but Changed Our Minds. This is sorted, we will stay with [livejournal.com profile] martling that night.

I need somewhere to crash in Edinburgh the night of Saturday, 4th August, too, because getting from Culbokie to Somerset in the same day on the train is near impossible (read: an 8-hour overnight layover in Birmingham New Street).

HELF?

E-mail me (ewtikins at livejournal works, if you don't want to leave stuff in this public post) if you can help with either of these please.

Bunny? Although I haven't heard from her in ages.

We live close to Edinburgh - Falkirk is just a half-hour ride away on the train. Trains from Edinburgh go (late night) at 9.33 and 10.33pm, with occasional 11.33 - £3.15 each way with a young person's railcard - and we're about 20 minutes' walk from Falkirk Grahamston station. Getting back Edinburghwards in the morning is fairly easy. We also have a double futon and a single air mattress, so you don't have to share a bed (though our living room has crappy blinds so you'll get woken up at 7am by the sun).

Will need to check with [livejournal.com profile] ashfae first, but let me know if Falkirk is close enough to be useful (or even en route to wherever you're going).

I'll have much luggage, so not too keen on extra travel at this point, especially with walking. My joints are already going to kill me for making the journey at all.

It would be lovely to meet you though! On my way back I'll be travelling alone and don't really want to stay with Strangers From The Internet, um, please don't be offended, but perhaps either on the way up or the way down we could meet for a cup of tea or something?

No, fair enough, Strangers from the Internet are kind of weird (although if it helps to know, at least three of your LJ friends have stayed at our place and not been eaten!) As for places in Edinburgh to stay, um, I have a whole list of youth hostels from about £15 within easy walking distance of Waverley. MacBackpackers are only about five minutes' walk away on the Royal Mile - http://www.scotlandstophostels.com/edinburgh.html (the first hostel is about ten minutes' walk from Waverley, the other two are five minutes' walk even with luggage) and lots of my friends have stayed there and been impressed.

It would be good to meet up for coffee or something - I'm in Dundee on the 22nd July, but 4th August is good (I'll probably be in Edinburgh putting up posters and flyers all day). I could meet you at Waverley and give you a hand getting luggage to wherever you're going?

Meeting in Edinburgh on 4th August sounds good. I have put up an itinerary so you can see when I arrive.
