Many thanks to those of you who lent practical or moral support with tidying over the last few days. Yesterday we got a fair amount done. There's still a long way to go but it feels more manageable now and that helps a lot.
The landlady came around. She is caught in the credit crunch, like so many others, and she may have to sell the house to keep up. She's serious enough that she had an estate agent around this afternoon.
This is the bit where I panic, because I'm just about managing to keep up with uni, teaching, and small amounts of life-improvement in the form of tidying and getting more organised and stuff. Moving house will NOT help. Also, finding something else in similar location will be more expensive (and I'm already technically out of what I can afford to pay), and something in a financially affordable location will be hideous for commuting purposes, which isn't something I can deal with on a physical level.
I'm not even going to be in the country from 12th December to 3rd January.
DO NOT WANT. Worst burthday prezzant evar.

Date: 2007-10-25 10:26 pm (UTC)I'm curious as to what exactly happened to cause this. Is it that the mortgage payments have gone up sharply and she can't remortgage for some reason? Or is it more of a "I've now realised that house prices might not always go up, so buying a house that I rent out for less than the mortgage payment suddenly looks like the Really Fucking Stupid idea it always was"?
I hope the house does not get sold, or if it does that the new owner will let you keep renting it.
