Winter wonderland

ewtStill snowing here; it hasn't really stopped for more than a day since I arrived. Weird; at this time of year I'd expect -30C and brilliant sunshine, but it's been overcast, snowing and unseasonably warm (as high as -2C in the warmest part of the day! madness... and without the windchill of course). Yesterday we had fog (again... what?) that deposited a lovely layer of frost on all the trees.
The planet's weather patterns are getting strange. Can this be December?
I just shoveled some of the walk. I didn't do all of it because a) my Dad pays someone else to do it and b) he was concerned I'd over-do things and hurt myself... and he's right really, but shoveling is one of my favourite chores. Anyway the really important bits are clear now and so they won't be quite so treacherous for anyone coming to our little party this afternoon.
Because of the cloud cover I've not seen any of the Geminid meteor shower, which is disappointing. I've taken a few pictures of the snow, though, and will doubtless take some more before I leave.
I'd like to get to Moose Jaw to go to the spa and to Rodo's Pizza, but whether we make the journey on Wednesday as planned depends very much on road conditions. My father is a good driver and an experienced one, but no amount of experience makes some conditions entirely safe.

Yeah, and not amout of experience makes it safe to be on the road with raging lunatics.
I've lived and driven in all sorts of treacherous, snowy, mountain states and can safely navigate anything if I HAVE to.
But nothing will make me get on the roads with the raging lunatics out here when there is snow on top of ice.
